What Is CRM?

The more you dive into the IT world the more unfamiliar the language can become. What Does CRM Mean?

CRM stands for Customer Relationship Management, this is a system that stores all your existing and potential customers data. It then monitors the interactions between your business and the customer and then shares the information with you to help improve your company. 

How Does CRM Work?

There are many types of communication that can be implemented within your CRM to help improve customer relations, such as websites, email, online chat, telephone calls, social media or mail, any form of communication that can be recorded. When learning about customers the CRM system will read data such as purchase history, their name, their age, where they live, what their interests are, their social media profiles, time spent looking at a product, their customer service queries, whatever information is inputted.

It will then learn the patterns of customers and then show you the results, usually on a dashboard. Once you have enough data, you will start to see patterns throughout your customers and you can then change the way your company does things to fit your customers’ profile more accurately. 

This might be narrowing down the target audience, advertising more in one area, or improving your customer service. Each staff member should have access to the CRM so they can see what they need to do to boost their customer service skills, and in turn enhance revenue.

The CRM will show whether a customer is yet to make a purchase, whether they are in need of any further help or how they made contact with your company. The more you learn about how your customers work, the more equipped your company will be to cater to your existing and future customers. Then the more catered you become to your customers the more loyal they will be towards your business.
